Sat 22 September 2001 – YCAC 44 SCC 12

The first rugby of the season resulted in a comfortable win against the tourists from Singapore Cricket Club. Picking up where he left off last season, Dougal scored three tries and was chosen as man-of-the-match by SCC. Other scorers were Jeff Scott (2), John Hammond, new boy Nick Bartelot and Gareth Hayward. Rich Freeman added two conversions. As well as Nick & Rich, Tim White, Tom Jones & Dave Nicol made their home debuts for YCAC and all played well. There is clearly some rust to be knocked off our skills in the next few weeks, but it was a promising start.
Gareth & Rob Jee were the touchline judge’s picks for the MOTM runners up.
