Tries: Andy, Thusitha, Matt, Dougal, Ian (2), Scott P., Luke (2).
onversions: Steve (3), Ben P. (3).

The Gents had a tough game against a gentle Giants clubs who failed to live up to their name in either regard. They put up a strong fight led by the Moolman trio of Gavin, Liaghn & Remy and their friends San & Robin but let in two tries in the last quarter. The Gents also welcomed one more South African into the team as Gordon Robertson stepped into the front row and received a cut to the head as a nice reminder of his first game at the club. The game also served as a good warm up for Scotty, Liaghn, Gavin, Masa and JD, who participated in the First’s game as well. Scotty Sizemore was the man of the match for the unrivalled experience. dominance, and manipulation he presented up front.
The Firsts had a good run out against the YCAC Tens winners, Chiba Akanehama. YCAC started strong and were eager to run with the ball but were hampered by the loose footing caused by the heavy rain on Saturday. However, once the team came to grips with the ground conditions the points did start to come. Notable performances included Steve Morris’ surprise comeback after surgery on his knee and rehabilation on various Roppongi dungeon dancefloors. Matty Creagh was directing the backs and looking to make Larkham-like runs through the opposition holes once again, and was popping off great balls to those in try-scoring positions. With the help of one our guest players, Rhys, Lyndon was able to get up high and take some very good ball at kick off time, which provided a good base for us to move the ball back into the opposition half from the restarts. The elder statesman, Scotty Sizemore, once again showed the younger generation how to battle your way through two games….although he looked close to a meltdown a few times he lasted the distance. Luke Raimo powered on with the help of a painkiller cocktail and touched down twice, as did Ian on the wing. Chiba attempted to make a comeback at the end of the game, no doubt inspired by their tens win, but it was too late and YCAC notched up another win. Andy Blacoe was man of the match for commanding the scrums up front and his support play. Final Score 57 – 10.
